Woooo!
Much to my own surprise, I successfully moved the site from DreamHost (boooooooo!) to BlueHost (yaaaaaay!), and while it still is doing all that DNS propagating stuff, it should now be making its way to your browser, all peppy and fast. Props to the WordPress user forums, which contain the answers to everything that can ever happen to you.
I hope to blog the Emmys at the new site on Sunday night; more to follow on that.
I'd love to hear more about your experience with BlueHost as you settle in there. I'm one of those WP/Dreamhost people who used to be all "Woo Dreamhost!" until all the problems this summer. Their spotty service has literally halved my site visits and I've been shopping around for a new host too.

[ link ]So far (knock wood), BlueHost has had a great first... day or so. And the people knocking around the WP forums certainly don't talk about it with as much frustration as they talk about DreamHost. I was convinced I had picked a WP theme that was just incredibly complicated and slow, because the site was so sluggish. Of course, now it's all zippy-skippy and loads like a dream. I had no idea how shitty DreamHost was over that first week or so; I just assumed the WP Dashboard was a slow-loading, pokey thing. It's been awesome seeing it get all responsive and stuff.
