Am I going to have to go see Punch-Drunk Love just because the very concept of Adam Sandler in (a) a good movie; and (b) a viable romance is so bizarre that if I don't see it myself, I'll never be able to understand the universe? I hope not, because I really, really hate Adam Sandler.

I don't want to tell you how to live, but you and I both know a little boy (a little boy who currently recaps a show produced by someone whose name rhymes with "Ken Flaffleck") who saw it months ago and pronounced it the best movie he'd ever seen. Better than "The Royal Tenenbaums," in fact. Which I don't quite believe, since we all know that was the best movie ever. But I'm still seeing "Punch-Drunk Love" today on the strength of his recommendation.
