I have no link for this, and I realize it's partly just bitterness talking, but I have to say again, as I watch Game 4, just how incredibly pathetic and sad I think it is that the Anaheim crowd has to bang sticks together in order to make adequate noise. That is the saddest, most wussy thing I have ever seen. We nursed our throats for two days after the Dome games. I would sooner die than participate in something that sad. We could have all fired off cap pistols, too, but we believe that noise should be made by human beings. God's sake. Posted by Alison-Jane at October 12, 2002 08:44 PMComments
A combination to be feared and reviled: thunder sticks and a politician mid-campaign. It's just a picture, not a story. http://cbs.sportsline.com/photos/bldphoto.cgi?ANS102101220 I have no love lost for the Angels (or anything else in Anaheim for that matter), but I do give credit to these girls for their enthusiasm if not their fashion sense. (I don't know if tags work in these Comments sections, so please pardon me as I experiment. ) Angels fans Posted by: Aurall on October 13, 2002 11:34 AMI am not happy that the Angels won today, and for many more reasons than the elimination of thw Twins. If I never hear the phraes "Thunder Sticks" and "Rally Monkey," I will die a happy man. I'm watching the Giants and Cardinals right now, and all I have to say is: On behaf on the city of San Francisco, I apologize for the pollution of Thunder Sticks in yet another baseball stadium. Some of us real fans couldn't get tickets. Posted by: Jeff McGinnis on October 13, 2002 09:24 PMAlli, you have my sympathy for the Twins' loss. They had a good season with a fun bunch of guys, and I hope the day soon arrives when you can be happy about that. In the meantime, bitter on. I've posted a link (using the official URL space this time) to Ray Ratto's article on the Giants' victory yesterday not for gloating purposes but because there's a nice little rant about Thunder Sticks in the middle. I'll admit I banged my Thunder Sticks yesterday but only for the express purposes of annoying the St. Louis fans next to me after the Cards scored in the first. (It worked like a charm.)
