Actually, I think Dave Eggers is both a poster child for artistic petulance AND a brilliant marketer. It's hardly an either/or.

He's one of those guys where I want to read his book, and then I want him to go away.

After tonight's episode of The Amazing Race, I had the germ of an idea to the effect that Zach was Dave Eggers, and Aaron was Jonathan Franzen, but then I couldn't really go anywhere with it and I was glad you recap that show and not me.
