And while I'm shooting fish in a barrel, I also enjoyed this article, including the fact that "a recent Freeschool meeting attended by 15 people included proposals for a workshop in yoga and yogic lifestyles and a discussion group about macrobiotic living." There's a shocker. Posted by Alison-Jane at 07:03 AM
"Can't I have an opinion without being forced to have an argument to back it up?" Hee hee. Sometimes I miss college very, very much. Posted by Alison-Jane at 07:00 AM

I do think it's a little harsh to dump a chick at Starbucks. I mean, really. There are all kinds of people in there, and they're all, like, drinking mochas. You don't end your engagement at Starbucks. Which I guess means that Aaron Buerge isn't quite as incredibly classy as I thought he was. Oh, wait . . . Posted by Alison-Jane at 08:44 PM
Has Tara Reid just completely given up hope? I mean, honestly. Has she just thrown in the towel completely? It's like she's resigned to ho-dacity forever. Posted by Alison-Jane at 08:38 PM
All right, provided that this is still a picture of Sarah Jessica Parker when you see it, I have to just say something. I never like the way she looks, ever. I think she's perfectly cute, but I never, ever like the way she dresses. Like, ever. She's 0-for-however-many-times-I've-seen-her-dressed-up. And I don't know why that is. Which seems a little unfair of me, don't you think? Posted by Alison-Jane at 08:37 PM
I think The Smoking Gun has been battered around as a publicity device a little bit recently, but this is very worthwhile reading. You'd think if they were going to shoot off fireworks, it would have made sense to say so, considering that they specified the riser heights. Or, if you want to go straight to hell, you can do what I did, and also find it slightly funny and sad that their rider requires Subway sandwiches. It's a far cry from J.Lo and her toilet lilies. I'm a little late recommending this, but I loved this Fametracker piece on Ben Affleck. Dude is frustrating. Posted by Alison-Jane at 07:29 PM
Umm, it's not that this whole thing isn't horrifyingly painful, but . . . "Prayer Unplugged"? Posted by Alison-Jane at 07:27 PM
I guess the moral of this story is simply this: when you order your bong, tell them not to label it, "BONG." Posted by Alison-Jane at 07:25 PM
I realize that picking on North Carolina isn't sporting right now, but I'd be lying if I said that stories like this don't still do my heart a world of good. Posted by Alison-Jane at 11:03 AM
It's nice that Norm Coleman is having this much fun, but in the end? I can't imagine it's going to last. There have to be people less soporific than Norm. Posted by Alison-Jane at 10:47 AM
I tend to think it's not a good idea for reality shows to go in and screw with pre-existing relationships in ways like this, but . . . I guess there's someone willing to do almost anything to be on television. Posted by Alison-Jane at 10:44 AM
Can I just ask how slow a news day has to be before we get a story out from the Associated Press regarding a pastor who's angry at Vicki Lawrence over an appearance she did in front of 1,000 people? Posted by Alison-Jane at 10:43 AM

Ah, yes, another corner heard from on the Frenchie affair. I think it sort of sucked, but I'm not sure I care enough to follow the amount of indignation it has spawned. Sheesh. Posted by Alison-Jane at 08:17 PM
Okay, this chick has been doing a series about online dating, which is perfectly fine. But she seems to have found Prince Charming in under a week. Which is bad, because either she's lying, in which case I have no respect for her, or she's telling the truth, in which case? I hate her. Posted by Alison-Jane at 08:16 PM
I don't disagree with this whole argument, really, but I'm thinking it's about fifty years too late to worry about it. Yes, TiVo is making commercials less attractive as a form of advertising. Yes, this will get worse. Yes, this means that advertising will get to us in other ways. Yes, there is an analogy to banner ads and pop-ups. Interesting. Posted by Alison-Jane at 08:15 PM
