I'm using a Fuji Finepix 3800 these days. It doesn't have manual focus, which absolutely drives me straight out of my bird, but other than that, it's been excellent to me. It's got a 6x zoom, which is twice what you'll normally get from a point-and-shoot. Like many digital cameras, it has trouble with low light, but overall, it is a great, great toy, and has a substantially more comfortable grip than those teeny cigarette-pack digitals, as far as I'm concerned.

I also have an old Canon Rebel G SLR, which has done a good job of demonstrating to me that you do not need a fancy camera. It's about three or four models out of date by now, and I've never been sad. The best friend I ever bought for it was a Promaster accessory flash. I have complex feelings about film and digital. They would quickly bore you.

A Fresh Start

Due to spam issues, the fastest thing to do was to cut out this particular blog and start from scratch. So we'll kick off with one of my favorite pictures.
